EXTREME SPORTS IS
A GREAT ALTERNATIVE TO DRUG ADDICTION.
WE REPLACE NEGATIVE HABITS WITH NEW
Replacing one addiction for another is very common during the addiction recovery process. There are different reasons why an addict may go from one addiction to another. It all comes down to their individual needs, thoughts and feelings. At Walking With Winners we encourage our residents to find new passions in life and turn it into a hobby, that will help to fill some of the voids that their addiction was once filling
Choosing a new hobby
When stepping out of addiction it is important to determine what makes you feel good and happy without using drugs or excessive habitual behaviors. Finding what makes you tick can lead to a positive and more fulfilling lifestyle without drugs or alcohol. The passion can be something small like crafts or very big such as extreme sports. Extreme sports are common for people who need to fulfill their adrenaline needs. It is important to make sure the hobby is something safe, healthy and challenging.
It's like skateboarding through the Kruger National park
You don’t need to know how to swim to learn to dive. Fortunately, you don't swim underwater like you would at the surface. Anyone can do it, an adventure never forgotten. The important thing to remember when moving underwater is to remain calm, enjoy the scenery and don’t bite the sharks. Most people prefer to stay on dry land because of sharks, lets dispel some myths. If you don’t bite sharks they won’t bite you.
Considering the ocean covers 71% of the earths surface, its not surprising that the world beneath the oceans surface is amazing and full of exquisite wild life.
